How Time Passes...

My grandmother was one of the very first people to find out we were pregnant. I had called my dad to share the news and Dad passed along the information. She was so happy. The next day, Kate got engaged and Dad was able to share that wonderful news with her too. Two days later and the day before she passed away, we went to visit her. While everyone was out of the room, I held her hand and told her our baby names. She was the first and the only one to know his name for those first few months. That day seems so long ago now. I think about her every day when I look at the painting above our fireplace she painted back in the 70s and smile.

Pat and I have been so blessed to have wonderful grandparents, and parents. We are so glad that Lennon will have such loving people to support him through lifes ups and downs. We are also so happy he will know two sets of his great-grandparents. That's pretty amazing these days!

Ding! He's done!

Lennon is done cooking! Thank the Lord he is ready to be born. I am so happy that I was able to carry him full term and know he has had everything he needs to be happy and healthy once he arrives. Now we wait...

Today Pat's work threw us a nice little shower. Here are a couple of the awesome custom things they had made for Lennon and his nursery!

Current view of the belly... The red thing you see me sitting on is my exercise ball, or as some people call it, a birthing ball. It is the MOST comfortable thing to sit on when you are pregnant!  I bounce a lot, secretly hoping it's helping Lennon want to come out. I think I am going to end up sitting on it once he is born too.

Spring has sprung!  I think this is the first time the tulip tree has ever bloomed this early. It usually blooms around my birthday at the end of April. My parent's always called it "Chelsey's tree" becuase of that. That's deffinetly not the case this year!

Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers. We are so excited for Lennon to be here. Any day now!

That's more like it...

The weekend at our house felt as close to a vacation as you can get... without actually being on vacation of course. We weather was so beautiful and in the 80s each day. Pat was able to get his first bike ride in for the season. I tried to convince him to let me ride in the Burley behind him, but I was unseccessful. Instead, I went to Home Dept and got mulch! Maybe this doesn't sound too exciting, but I was so thrilled we were able to refresh our much before Lennon gets here. We have been able to do so much more than we thought we could this spring because of the weather. Thank God! It was also just nice to relax on the deck and soak up a little sun. We of course watched our share of the March Madness too.

We had our 36 week appointment this morning and it went very well. My belly is back to measuring "normal" at 37cm. The doctor said that Lennon could safely come any time now. Our office's policy is to allow for birth to naturally happen up to 41 weeks, which puts us at April 22nd before they will consider any medical interventions to get him born.

I can not imagine being pregnant another 4 whole weeks! I know it's a complete possibility, but the belly is so big already!

Have a happy week!

New Life

While I may still be a tad jealous of my family members heading off for Spring Break to Aruba and California; (I would love to stick my toes in the sand) The weather is so beautiful here I can't complain!

The wonderful thing about the weather being so nice this winter and early spring are the plants!  The bright green sprouts shooting from the ground brings so much inspiration. Maybe it's because I am a proud farmer's daughter, but I love watching plants grow. Pat thinks it's so funny how excited I get when our seeds sprout in the garden, or even when the grass grows a lot. Maybe I should have been a horticulturist?

Anyways, spring seems like the perfect time to bring our new life into the world. Only 4 weeks left! Well, give or take. We know the Lord has a wonderful plan for Lennon and has a perfect birthday chosen for him already.

Have a great weekend enjoying His creation!

What a Change!

Today is B.E.A.utiful!  It's amazing what a little change in the weather will do for your spirit!

Today is an amazing blessing for so many reasons:
-It's going to be 77 degrees, and 70's are in the forecast for the next 10 days!
-We turned off the heat and opened the windows
-My husband is so awesome
-I get to go walk in the sunshine at lunch
-I get to soak up some rays at lunch
-Thai chicken noodles is on the menu for dinner
-I was able squeeze my belly into some non-maternity spring clothes (see photo)
-I am feeling good about the Lord's plan for Lennon, he will just come when he is meant to come.

I know there are 1000 other things to be thankful for too, those are just a few.

One amazing thing happened last night. Before we feel asleep, my belly was super soft. Pat and I were able to make out the curvature of Lennon's back, butt, legs, knees and feet. It was SOOOO amazing!  He is so tiny in there. I couldn't help but think, what does he think when we rub on him like that?  Hopefully he will love to be pat, rubbed, and loved on when he gets here, because we do it a lot already!

I hope you are feeling blessed today as well. God is so good!

Humungo?

Dear Lennon,

If you are really as big as Dr. N thinks you are... can you come out soon please?

Regardless, I am so glad you are healthy and happy in there.

Love you,

Mom

Growing Pains

He. is. getting. big!  Between Lennon growing like a weed in my belly and braxton hicks contractions throughout the day, things are starting to get more and more uncomfortable.

However, I can't complain too much because the weather is wonderful here!  I took a walk over lunch outside yesterday and like a crazy woman, I had a conversation with my belly. I told Lennon how nice it was outside and how excited I am that he is going to be a spring baby!  I can't wait to take him for walks and sit outside enjoying the fresh air.

We are getting so close!  5 weeks and counting...
