I know our pace of life is hectic, but some things lately have rubbed it in. Last weekend I got a speeding ticket, and after crying about it and being angry at the officer, I sucked it up and moved on. Last night on our way to dinner we were in a hurry. The day hadn't gone the way we had planned and we were in a rush. Trying to get to dinner on time, Pat ran a red light and flash flash the red light camera snapped our photo. Sigh...
Laying in bed last night I thought about how much we run around speeding from one place to the next. While maybe it isn't always physically speeding, I feel like we are always ready for the next thing. Being pregnant has made this very evident too. Counting down the days to the next appointment and the next milestone. Before we know it, we will have a little baby in our arms and will have forgotten how we got there. I'm ready to hit pause or at least slow motion and live for the here and now.
Remember that the Lord gives us each day for a reason and a purpose.
This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
