Our baby is going to be a body builder! He or she is busy flexing his or her little arms and legs. This week our baby’s continuing this transition from rapid development to rapid growth. This is the 18th week of the pregnancy. This week we didn’t know how to draw a sweet potato or yam without it looking like feces so we decided Chels should just hold a yam. Every week when we take these pictures Wrigley stands next to Chelsey but he gets cropped out. This morning he thought the yam was for him and wanted to be a part of the picture so I obliged. Chelsey is constantly feeling movement and this morning when she was at work she was able to feel movement from the outside! Needless to say, I am ecstatic to be home tonight to try to feel him or her.
This week Chelsey had a little more weight gain, up to seven pounds overall. No cravings this week and Chelsey said nothing in particular made her queasy. It was pretty funny Chelsey sent me this article about the reason women crave things while pregnant. The article explained the cravings are a result of her body recognizing a need for certain vitamins. i.e. craving sweet potatoes means your body is needing more vitamin A One day she mentioned how she was craving biscuits and I asked what her body needed when she was craving biscuits and she quickly responded “fat.” It was pretty amusing.
Still the same maternity clothes this week but Chelsey purchased a belly band. This has been a great investment for as it has allowed her to continue using her pre-pregnancy pants. Not trying to sway any guesses but Chelsey had a dream the baby was a boy last night. :) If you want to participate in the baby pool send in your guesses for gender, birthdate, weight (pounds and ounces), and length. There aren’t many guesses so far so you have a good chance of winning the $25 Starbucks gift card.
Hope this reaches all of you well. Thank you for keeping Chelsey and Baby Wood in your thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Patrick, Chelsey, & Baby Wood
