Lennon Update #6 (from 10/13/11)

Our baby looks like he or she is displaying emotions! This week’s big
development is the baby can now squint, frown, grimace and possibly
even suck his or her thumb.  This is the 14th week of the pregnancy,
as you can see in the photo Chelsey’s baby bump is slowly growing.
The bump grew quite a bit the past few weeks but not much significant
growth this week.  As Chelsey is progressing she thinks she is able to
feel some movement!  She had a diet coke over the weekend and had some
tea yesterday and right after she was able to feel little flutters.
Obviously, this was the best moment this past week and hopefully she
will continue to feel some movement in the coming weeks.
This week Chelsey had a little more weight gain.  Up one pound this
week and three pounds overall.  I told her that she would rue the day
she was upset that she was losing weight, this morning she thought she
was gaining weight pretty fast.  (took everything in me to not say
told ya so!)  This week Chelsey has been craving bananas.  She has
been sticking to just eating the fruit and banana yogurt to be good
but said if someone brought her a banana cream pie, she might eat all
of it.  The only think making her queasy or sick this week is
forgetting to eat. If she goes more than three hours between a snack
or meal she feels pretty crummy.
Still the same maternity clothes this week, just leggings and the
jeans.  Chelsey tried a technique yesterday that I was unfamiliar with
but made sense, she called it the hair tie technique.  Putting the
hair tie through the loop of her non-maternity pants and wrapping it
around the button… she is the MacGyver of pregnant ladies!  As a
result of her growing belly Chelsey is missing her shape.  She says
that she no longer has a waist but doesn’t look pregnant quite yet.
As she so eloquently describes it she is “still rocking the too many
doughnuts look.”
I didn’t receive many gender predictions and that is fine since it is
still early.  In an attempt to make it a little more fun I am going to
create a baby pool.  If you want to participate you just need to send
me your predictions for gender, birthdate, weight (pounds and ounces),
and length (in inches) at some point before November 21.  There will
be a bonus if anybody can guess the name but you can wait to submit
those until after we find out the gender.  There will be no buy in,
Chelsey and I are trying to think of a fun prize for the winner, if
you think of anything let me know.
Hope this reaches all of you well.
Love,
Patrick, Chelsey, & Baby Wood
