Lennon Update #8 (from 10/27/11)

This week our baby’s skeletal system and nervous systems start to coordinate movement.  Additionally, in the next few weeks our baby will double in size! This is the 16th week of the pregnancy, as you can see in the photo Chelsey’s baby bump is continuing to grow.  Chelsey agrees that she is starting to show.  The best moment this past week for Chelsey was visiting Kelsey, Tim, and friends in Iowa City for homecoming and having enough energy to stay up past 9pm.  Chels was a trooper, she stayed out late Friday and got up really early for tailgate Saturday morning!  I was very appreciative and she is going to be a wonderful mother because she is always willing to sacrifice for the people she cares about.  It was also very funny to see all my college friends rubbing her belly at Brother’s.

This week Chelsey had a little more weight gain.  Up a half pound this week and four pounds overall.  No cravings this week, Chelsey has just been really hungry… all the time.  I am trying to resist eating each time she does because I don’t share in her problem of not putting on weight.  Chelsey said nothing in particular made her queasy this week.  However, Chelsey ate a piece of candy that she thought was grape but it was black licorice and she wasn’t sure she was going to be able to keep her lunch down.  Additionally, Chelsey is looking forward to Halloween, she isn’t sure what she is going to be but she really enjoys putting the Halloween t-shirts on the dogs.

Still the same maternity clothes this week, leggings, jeans, and corduroys.  Chelsey said she needs to invest in a belly band as her regular pants are starting to bother her.  This week Chelsey is really missing her clothes that fit.  Regular pants are too snug, maternity pants are a little too big, and the changing season is really exacerbating the problem.  Chelsey is most comfortable at home wearing yoga pants.  She is still focusing on her belly every day trying to feel movement.  Chelsey felt some flutters when we got to The Vine in Iowa City.  Chels and I both agree the baby knew we were in Hawkeye country and got very excited! :)

Chelsey is starting to think boy but really has no idea why.  If you want to participate in the baby pool send in your guesses for gender, birthdate, weight (pounds and ounces), and length.  Let me know if you think of any good prizes.

Hope this reaches all of you well.  Next week’s update will be on Friday as we have Chelsey’s doctor’s appointment Firday afternoon.

Love,
Patrick, Chelsey, & Baby Wood
