Lennon Update #15 (from 12/15/11)

Lennon is getting adjusted to Kaya and Wrigley’s barks.  Lennon is now able to hear all the noise outside the womb and any noises (dogs barking, Chelsey becoming progressively louder during conversations, etc.) he starts to hear now he will be more used to when he is out of the womb.  This is the 23rd week of the pregnancy.  This week Lennon is the size of a mango.  Chelsey is still looking as beautiful as ever.   She is wearing maternity clothes almost all of the time, she says she is falling in love with sweater dresses and leggings as she is trying to keep as comfortable and cozy as possible. 

This week Chelsey had a little more weight gain, up to twelve pounds overall.  This week Chelsey has been craving sweets.  The cravings might be due to the baked goods that have been in her office each day this week.   Chels has been very fortunate the entire time there really hasn’t been anything that has made her queasy and that continued this week.  This week Lennon is still moving a lot but his movements have changed.  Instead of the hard punches, kicks, and what we thought were somersaults his movements are more soft.  We think he is getting a little more cramped in there and is stretching more instead of kicking and punching. 

The best moment this past week was finishing all of our Christmas shopping.   Chels said that she was very content this week and wasn’t missing anything.  I would argue she is missing more normal sleep.  She said it was a difficult sleep week, her dreams are very vivid and it doesn’t allow her to sleep very deeply.  I think it is safe to say that she misses not being restless.  Chels has also had some heartburn recently.  We read in some of our books that there is a high correlation between mom’s with heartburn and the baby being born with hair, so Chelsey says bring on the heartburn because she would love for Lennon to be born with a full head of beautiful curly hair.  On a positive note, no stretch marks, her wedding ring is still on, and we are both looking forward to Christmas with Kate, Kelsey, and Tim home.  Chelsey said that Lennon needs some aunt and uncle belly rub time.
