Welcome to sunny Iowa? This week’s chalkboard is inspired by the record high temperatures that we expect to have today, a balmy 62° I believe. This is the 26th week of the pregnancy. The sites and books we read don’t have fruit and vegetable comparisons every week as the pregnancy progresses so we will be doing more fun drawings. Chelsey said her best moment this past week was enjoying time with family and relaxing. After ringing in the new year Chelsey experienced a weird moment when she realized how close we are to meeting Lennon. On the way home, Chelsey realized it is 2012, the year of Lennon! This is his birth year! The weird moment was a combination of realizing just how close we are to meeting him and the fact that there are no significant holidays before he is born and that freaked her out a little. We both realized that Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s all served as great distractions and now the next thing we are anticipating is his birth. Very exciting!
Not only did the holidays serve as a distraction they helped Lennon gain some weight. This week Chelsey had a little more weight gain, up to 15.5 pounds overall. This week there were no real cravings. Chelsey feels like she is the only pregnant woman to not have an unrelenting craving. She just hasn’t had a time where she couldn’t live without eating something, or had to run to the store to get something specific. Although she does have her regular items to eat such as, Kashi Go Lean, Bananas, and Mac’ and Cheese. Still no food aversions and not really missing anything. Lennon is moving all of the time now. The strongest movements come after Chelsey eats, and Chels assumes this is a sign that he will love to eat like his mom and dad.
Chelsey has had some decent sleep recently, however it is becoming increasingly more difficult to find a comfortable spot. Additionally, Chelsey is starting to experience some back pain, which started over the weekend and hasn’t stopped. The only thing that is helping relieve the pain is a warm bath and hopefully next week’s chiropractor appointment. In addition to the chiropractor, Chelsey is looking forward to continuing with our labor and delivery class. Chelsey and I enjoyed our first class this week and hope to keep learning more.
Hope this reaches all of you well and thank you for keeping Chelsey and Lennon in your thoughts and prayers!
Love,
Patrick, Chelsey, & Lennon
