Lennon Update #14 (from 12/9/11)

Lennon is building his vocabulary!  Chelsey is reading him I Love Monkey each night before we go to bed.  Nana Pam got him the discovery book with the fun monkey and he seems to really enjoy the reading as he moves around quite a bit each night when Chelsey reads to him.  This is the 22nd week of the pregnancy.  This week Lennon is the size of a spaghetti squash or a papaya.  As you can see by the photo Chelsey’s belly is really growing.  She is almost always wearing maternity clothes and Chels says that she looks really pregnant when she tries to wear a non-maternity sweater or shirt.  According to Chels, “she is making her clothes do work!”

This week Chelsey had a little more weight gain, up to eleven pounds overall.  Again, no real cravings this week but Chelsey is eating a bowl of Kashi go lean one or twice a day, it has become her go to snack and nothing is making her sick or queasy.  Besides when Chels reads to Lennon, he is moving a lot in the mornings.  Chelsey is still applying lotion consistently, she is hoping the lotion will reduce some of the itching she has been having.  She has itchy spots on her belly and chest that have developed this past week.  Chels did freak out the other morning when she saw red marks on the side of her belly as she thought they were stretch marks.  After her eyes were able to adjust she realized they were from her shit being too tight on the sides.  To avoid these panic attacks she is going to start wearing some of my shirt to bed.

The best moment this past week was feeling great and avoiding being sick as Chelsey knows a lot of people that were sick with the flu this past week.   Chels is really missing her workouts being normal.  She is still doing kickboxing, light weightlifting, and walking but her kicks are getting a little strange during kickboxing.  Her center of gravity has definitely started to shift more this past week and is making her workouts a little more difficult.   Also, apologies for the delay of this email this week, work has been really busy.  I am very proud of my night light design so I am including a picture of that too.  I had the thought a while back that a birdhouse would be a great night light in Lennon’s nursery.  I was looking for a design online and couldn’t find one that matched what I had in my mind so I designed my own.  As I don’t have a table saw, my grandpa cut the wood and brought it to us over Thanksgiving (thanks grandpa!). This past weekend (our first weekend in a while to lounge around home) I painted it and assembled it.  Lennon’s nursery is pretty awesome!

Hope this reaches all of you well. Thank you for keeping Chelsey and Lennon in your thoughts and prayers!

Love,
Patrick, Chelsey, & Lennon
