Hello All!
Mama Wood writing to you. Pat thought it might be fun for me to guest write the update for the week. I’m not making any promises it will be as eloquent as his updates!
This marks the start of week 17. I am particularly excited because the baby is starting to hear! Not only does this mean I will have to start reading to the baby and serenading him or her in the car but it also means the baby can start getting used to the dogs and all of the loud noises they make! Another maybe not so pleasant development would be the babies sweat glands are forming. Let’s all say a little prayer the baby is forming Chelsey sweat glands and not Patrick’s sweat glands. We don’t need two people in our house who hate the hot summers!
As for me this week. It’s been a great week! I have felt baby flutters and bubbles in my belly every day since last Thursday! Baby is moving around like crazy as I write actually. I assume because I am eating yogurt and not because of the fabulous writing job I am doing… I have gained 5.5 pounds so far which puts me back in “normal” range. Yay!
This cold weather is making me miss the drinks I normally enjoy once it gets cold… oh how I miss Skinny Vanilla Lattes! I tried to do decaf, but it still had too much caffeine in it and it made me super jittery. I guess I will have to stick to my new morning staple, Tropicana low acid orange juice. I didn’t consider this a craving until last night. Each morning since we found out we were pregnant, I have had a glass of this delicious oj with my breakfast and vitamins. Yesterday we ran out and we didn’t have time to stop at the store for more before this morning. Last night Pat asked me several times if he could run out and grab some, but I insisted it would be fine. Until l slept, I dreamt about this delicious orange juice! I couldn’t’ believe it! I woke up at 2am and couldn’t fall asleep for another 30 min because I was thinking about it. Pretty terrible huh? Well I guess we know we can’t run out any more, it’s just not an option J
I think this week I am officially “showing”. I had my first student as me if I was expecting this week. While I think she was really gutsy for doing this, I guess I am getting bigger.
The next few weeks will be very exciting! I can’t wait for Pat to be able to feel the baby move. Also looking forward to the ultrasound on the 21st and of course Thanksgiving! Mashed potatoes sound so great right now!
We hope this email finds everyone well.
Much Love,
Chelsey, Pat and Baby
p.s.
Went to the doctor today and everything went just perfectly. Baby's heart rate was 140 and he/she was moving around like crazy! Great to know he/she is an athlete already :)
